The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Halloween kicks off the season of deals over the holidays. There is a yearly peak of credit card bonuses and discounts from retailers competing for the elevated spend of the typical American. While Black Friday is the most well-known there are good bargains popping up almost daily. This year should be particularly interesting as a glut of inventory could drive deeper cuts in prices for certain goods.

Along with folks like Daily Churn, I plan to batch spending for 2023 at discount. I am armed with a new Bank of America Business Customized Cash card, my first business card ever, to ensure much of this spending is towards a signup bonus. Spending towards a signup bonus can make some of these deals particularly lucrative as my prior post showed.

I have been busy with work the last few months but will resolve to write more to keep this updated.

Deals Used

Target Debit Card $40: This deal comes often and the DoC thread has tons of data-points. Currently it runs until December 10th. Should be able to use in-store and online for $80. Will test and update with results. $40 coupon worked in store but not online

Fee Free Visa Gift Cards at Staples Online: One day only. Used business card that gets 3% cash back at office supply stores. These were out of stock when I tried in person a couple weeks ago. Purchased the max amount of 3.

Code BFVIP on Giftcards.com: Appears to stack through the Capital One Portal at 3% back. Purchased $750 of cards for $730.35. Deal appears unintentional so move fast.

Bank of America More Rewards Day on 11/5: Get 2 extra rewards points on all BofA personal and small business credit cards. Good bonus given I’m working on minimum spend for my new business card and use the Custom Cash Personal card combined with Preferred Rewards for 5.25% cash back on online purchases

AA Shopping Portal Bonus: Tiered mile bonuses based on portal spending through 11/18. Did not use the portal over this period
